about Cindy
Cindy is a Costume Designer and Tailor. She has built costumes for many Broadway and Off-Broadway shows throughout her career, and started designing costumes for Dance and Theater in 1995. She received her BA in Theater from SUNY New Paltz, and her MFA in Costume Design from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts. After working as Tailor at Law and Order: SVU and other shows for many years, she opened the tailor shop at The Treehouse in New Paltz. She started Root by Cindy in 2014, where she has been making comfortable clothing designed for artists, athletes, craftspeople, gardeners, healers, mothers, chronic pain patients, and unique bodies. She spends her spare time exploring in the woods, and restoring her 1950s cabin and gardens.
